Maternal and Fetal Assessment Unit

The Maternal and Fetal Assessment Unit is located within the Antenatal Service at Walsall Manor Hospital and provides the following services:

  • Antenatal steroid administration
  • Blurred vision checks
  • Electronic fetal monitoring
  • Ferinject infusion
  • Follow-up appointments for
    • Blood pressure
    • Obstetric cholestasis
    • Pre-term spontaneous rupture of membranes
  • Postnatal assessment
  • Reduced fetal movement asssessment
  • Severe headache asssessment
  • Spontaneous rupture of membranes asssessment (no pain)
  • Symptomatic itching in pregnancy
  • Telephone advice
  • Ultrasound scan reviews

The service operates Monday – Friday 8.30am – 6pm, and Saturday 9am – 5pm.
