A popular Fundraising Hub within Walsall Manor Hospital is having a makeover – ready to start spring with a new look for the Well Wishers charity.

The hub, which sells handmade cards, books, jigsaws, games and knitted baby items,  will close its doors at 5pm this Friday 10 February. It is due to re-open around 11 April, just after the Easter break.

Georgie Westley, Fundraising Manager, said: “This is a long-awaited refurbishment that will create more storage space as well as making it easier for visitors to browse all of our bargains.

“We will continue to sell items by setting up a couple of stalls each week, supported by volunteers, and will advertise those dates as soon as we can. The rest of our goods will go into storage and the Fundraising Team will be based in a room near to the children’s train on Route 123 for those who want to visit us to make a donation during this temporary closure. We don’t want to be away for too long as we will really miss our patients, visitors and staff who all come in to say hello but our Well Wishers charity will use this time to go out and about across the Manor Hospital and its community services with a fundraising roadshow.

“The Fundraising Team will also host some information stands across Walsall during this time – if you see us, do come over and have a chat!

“We’d like to thank everyone who has supported Well Wishers so far and urge people to keep an eye on our website www.walsallhealthcare.nhs.uk/charity/ and follow us on Facebook @wellwishersWHC and Twitter @WellWishersWHC for updates and news, including our packed calendar of upcoming events.”

The team can be contacted via email at wht.fundraising@nhs.net and on 01922 656643 or 07974 616377.
