Pelsall community come together to remember loved ones and fundraise for Goscote hospice.

The memory star ‘light up a life’ appeal was launched in collaboration with My Pelsall First team colleagues Edward Lee and Rose Martin.

The idea being that people could purchase a star in memory of a loved one and place it on the memory tree – situated outside St Michaels Church, Pelsall.

The stars were £2 each and have been on sale throughout December with money raised being donated to Goscote Hospice. The stars sold out very quickly and an amazing amount of £615 was raised.

Associate Director – Patient Relations & Experience Garry Perry said:

“Having experienced personal loss this year – the loss of a loved one can be especially difficult during the Christmas season, which is why we wanted to give people the opportunity to remember their ‘special stars’ and light up their memory through this special dedicated tree whilst helping the work of others at the same time.

“The memory star appeal has proven to be very popular and we thank all those who purchased a star and co-sponsored the appeal, Brownhills Community Association being one of them. Those we love can never be more than a thought away, for as long as there’s a memory they live in our hearts to stay.”

Thank you to all those who took part!
