Kind hearted staff at Walsall’s branch of the West Brom building society made a special delivery of their own when they arrived at the Manor Hospital with goodie bags for new mums.

Tracey Dunn, Customer Manager, explained that the company supports its nominated charity but also identifies a local community cause.

“We talked about how new mums must be feeling giving birth during this pandemic with visiting and other restrictions on birthing partners and decided we’d actually like to do something for vulnerable mums who may not have any family members or a network to call on,” she said.

“So six of us raised around £400 which we’ve used to make up goodie bags containing items for baby and for mum too. We hope this will bring a smile to their faces at what has been a challenging time.”

Carol Hollington, Matron for Maternity Inpatients at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, said: “What a lovely thought from staff at the West Brom. Our new mums will definitely appreciate such a kind gesture.”
