Has lockdown left you low? Has working from home resulted in few extra pandemic pounds on your waistline.

Perhaps you’ve already made some positive lifestyle changes but worry about keeping up the good work?

#JustPledgeJuly could be right up your street to kickstart your mood and motivation levels – and help to raise money for our charity at the same time.

Walsall Healthcare’s charity Well Wishers is encouraging everyone of all ages to get involved; it’s the perfect time to commit to and work towards your goal.

If your aim is to become more active, particularly as we’re now into the summer, you can pledge to walk, run, skip or jump, do an on-line exercise class.

Want to eat healthier? Start a new hobby or simply commit to taking some well-deserved me-time? Your pledge can be whatever you want it to be.

All you have to do is set a personal goal (either for yourself, your colleagues or with friends and family) and pledge an amount or sponsorship to complete this goal. For example, “I pledge £20 to skip for half an hour a day for the month of July! #JustPledgeJuly”.

Any funds you raise will go towards Well Wishers charity which buys things over and above what the NHS can provide.

Walsall Manor Hospital’s Discharge Lounge team has already got on board.

Its Pledge is “To become healthier, lose weight and become more active.

Sister Rachel Dawson said: “Our colleague Lindsey Smith suggested going on a diet and this was something other members of the team wanted to do as well.

“When we heard that our trust charity was planning #JustPledgeJuly we thought this would be a great opportunity for everyone to get involved. We’ve signed up and will be spurring each other on.”

Each received pledge will be entered in to a grand draw to win a 19” TV.
