Beautiful baby Alice-Grace has no idea she was born during the middle of a pandemic after making a very peaceful arrival.

Proud mum Rebecca, 28 who already has four-year-old daughter Esmae Olivia was initially “so worried about coming into the hospital with everything going on right now”.

Rebecca said: “I was scared that I wouldn’t be able to have anyone with me to begin with me as things were changing everyday however this wasn’t the case and staff made everything as normal as possible with the only difference being the extra PPE!”

“All the staff were so friendly and reassuring and I can’t thank them enough for making my experience one to remember.

“I would especially like to thank the following midwives:

  • Kelly Rowbotham who looked after me from the start and went out of her way to come and see the baby when she was born and see how I was
  • Jessica Blowen who made me feel so much better and kept me positive when things didn’t progress as quickly as we had hoped, she unfortunately finished her shift hours before baby was born
  • Samira Begum who listened to me the whole way through and delivered my baby safely, gave us amazing after care and was just lovely in general”

The Walsall mum is now happy at home with her newborn and says that big sister Esmae Olivia “absolutely adores and loves her so much”.

Alice-Grace was born on 14 June at 1.02pm weighing 5 pounds 3 ounces.
