HR Business Partner Nisha Khunkhuna can talk the talk but for May she decided to walk the walk for Walsall Healthcare’s charity Well Wishers.

During lockdown Nisha’s sister set a challenge for their family by suggesting they all take part in the May 50k challenge which had to be completed by walking or running.

To test her mental and physical endurance Nisha accepted.

The mother-of-two said:

“My children are very active and when lockdown started they found it more and more difficult to stay at home. I decided on this 50k journey to keep them busy and active as well as myself.”

Along with her family they all attempted to see who could finish first with the best results.

Nisha is proud to say she has officially finished but will “continue to walk until this pandemic is over and it’s safe enough to resume normal living lives.”

She has personally chosen to donate to the Well Wishers COVID-19 support fund  to thank everyone at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust for all the hard work they are continuing to do throughout this pandemic.

And the 31-year-old has raised an amazing total of £897.50 with gift aid adding that “people have been very supportive and proud of what I have accomplished.”

Nisha, who lives in Wolverhampton, explained:

“Both my aunties Sharon Chouhan and Gurdev Suri are frontline key workers, treating Covid-19 patients every day. I have seen their struggles and pain during this time and they really are our superheroes. Thank you to them, and the rest of the NHS.”
