The trust’s Library and Knowledge Services is excited to invite staff, patients and visitors to use the free mobile library service launching this Thursday (7 February)!

In partnership with Walsall Public Library Services, all those working, being treated at or visiting Walsall Manor Hospital can access a wide selection of fiction and non-fiction books, suitable for all ages and interests.

Jacqui Watkeys, Head of Library and Knowledge Services for Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust said: “The mobile library and its new array of books means we’ll have something for everyone; for those wanting to grab the next bestseller or discover more about a particular subject. It will save staff and service-users time that would have otherwise been used for taking trips to their local Walsall library.”

“In the spirit of Walsall Together, which is all about working with local partners, we’d like to say thank you to Walsall Libraries for making these quality books so accessible.”

The library will also offer a range of resources as part of national campaigns e.g. Black History Month, LGBT History Month and more, so keep a look out!

It will be located at the front of Walsall Manor Hospital, outside of Pathology and the service will launch this Thursday from 9:30am until 10:30am and again on Saturday 9 February from 1:30pm until 2:30pm.

Please note the mobile library will be onsite regularly and the trust’s library team can be contacted on library.service@walsallhealthcare.nhs.uk with any queries.
