Patients and staff at Walsall Manor Hospital have received a welcome boost thanks to donations from Skanska and Facilities Management Services UK (FMS).
Skanska provides contracted support to Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust. Working in partnership with FMS, it donated chocolate, sweets, crayons and colouring books to wards across the hospital.
The donations were delivered to elderly patients, the Paediatric Assessment Unit and the Children’s Ward.
Sadie Webster, Commercial Assistant at Skanska, said: “We feel that it is important to recognise the wellbeing of both patients and staff.
“We hope that we have brought comfort and smiles to those across the hospital. We also want to give a huge thank you to FMS for helping us support.”
Ben Atkins, Owner of FMS UK, said: “It was a privilege to support Walsall Manor Hospital and work with Skanska on this.
“The work staff carry out every day is incredible, and we wanted to show our appreciation while also helping to brighten patients’ days.
“We have been a contractor for the last 20 years, it is a lovely cause and we are always willing to help wherever we can.”
Emma Lester, Paediatric Play Specialist, said: “We want to say a huge thank you Skanska and FMS.
“Donations like this make a huge difference to the children and staff. A small gift like this can light up their day. Thank you.”
