A reality TV star is heading up the judges’ panel for a sold-out Walsall charity event this month.

Sacha Jones, 29, is one of the judges for the Walsall’s Got Talent show on Saturday, 27 September. The show has been arranged by Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust’s Well Wishers charity.

She appeared on the Channel 4 show, Married At First Sight, last year, frequently singing the praises of her hometown Walsall.

The show will see performers from all over Walsall take to the stage in front of a packed audience, all hoping to impress a panel of four judges.

Sacha said: “I’m so excited to be part of the very first Walsall’s Got Talent. This town has so much creativity and passion, and I can’t wait to see it come alive on stage. It feels amazing to be back home and to celebrate the talent that makes Walsall so special.”

Joining her on the judging panel are Garry Perry, Walsall Healthcare’s Associate Director for Patient Voice, Samantha Hale, Finance Manager at Walsh’s Funerals and Memorials and Edward Lee, a professional pianist and organist.

Garry said: “I’m really excited to be part of this brand-new event. I know Walsall is full of talent, and I can’t wait to see it on stage.

“This is a fun way to raise money for patients, and it’s extra special that it coincides with the 60th anniversary of Pelsall Community Centre, which was built to bring people together.”

Samantha added: “This is such a brilliant way to showcase local talent and bring the community together.

“I can’t wait to help give the acts the confidence to shine. Walsh’s Funerals and Memorials are really proud to support the event.”

Edward said: “It’s a real privilege to be a judge for Walsall’s Got Talent. I’m looking forward to experiencing the diversity of performance and seeing the creativity our community has to offer. Good luck to all the finalists.”

The night will consist of 17 acts competing for a £250 grand prize. The acts include singers, choirs, an acrobat and much more.

Funds raised from the event will be used to create a new room where play specialists can conduct one-to-one therapeutic play sessions.

The space will also offer play therapy as well as a waiting room for patients who are anxious about being in a clinical area.

Georgie Westley, Fundraising Manager at Walsall Healthcare, said: “After having a successful Trust’s Got Talent show over the last seven years, we are so proud to have opened this up to the Borough and bring Walsall’s Got Talent to life.

“The response from the community has been incredible, with tickets selling out fast. Every penny raised will help us go the extra mile for our patients and staff. It’s going to be a fantastic night.”
