Colleagues of Care Support Worker Diane Cooper officially have an award-winner in their Walsall Healthcare team now she has been recognised for going above and beyond in her daily role.

Diane is the proud owner of a Chief Nursing Officer Award, as supported through NHS England which has to consider nominations and decide whether they are given.

She works in a hybrid role within Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust’s Research and Development Team where she supports participants who take part in clinical trials and studies as well as helping T-Level students when they are in practice with the Trust from Walsall College.

Lisa Carroll, Chief Nursing Officer at the Trust was proud to present Diane with the special award.

“In all my four years of working at Walsall Healthcare I’ve never presented such an award, and it is a testament to Diane that NHSE has also agreed she’s a worthy winner. Many congratulations Diane.”

Delighted Diane said the accolade was “a total shock.”

“I had no idea but do now feel really proud to have been presented with my award. I love my job and enjoy working this hybrid role in a team that is so supportive.”

Lorna Kelly, Associate Director of Research and Professional Development at the Trust was among those who nominated Diane.

She added: “Nothing is ever too much trouble for Diane – she gives 100 per cent to everything she does. She is such a flexible colleague, embracing opportunities and challenges equally and she never says no! She always comes up with a solution or explores ways in which we can achieve our goals as a team.

“Her enthusiasm and can do attitude are infectious and she inspires us all to be the best we can be.”
