Members of staff at Walsall’s RAC are driving a donation of more than £2000 towards Walsall’s young patients and those living with dementia.

Becky Tombs, Incident Manager at the roadside assistance and insurance organisation, has been busy fundraising, supported by colleagues and sold T shirts to help swell funds for Walsall Healthcare’s Well Wishers charity..

Leanne Brown, RAC Shift Manager, said: “We’ve worked with the charity Libby Mae’s Little Angels previously which supports Neonatal Units across the Midlands, so we wanted to continue that theme of helping children.

“During the NHS 75 celebrations I got talking to Georgie from Well Wishers who mentioned various projects to benefit children and we also spoke about support for patients living with dementia who use services at the hospital. It felt a really fitting thing to do to donate the cash we’d raised – which is £2068.50 – to both these causes in the 75th year of the NHS and that’s what we’ve done.

“We hope we’ve made a difference by doing so.”

“Georgie added: “We’re thrilled with the RAC’s donation at such a special time for the NHS and want to thank everyone who supported Becky in her efforts. Our charity raises money for items above and beyond what the NHS can provide to enhance the experience of our patients of all ages.”
