A little baby boy born at Walsall Manor Hospital this morning made his arrival on a very special day for the NHS.

For mum Ibrat Shaheen from Darlaston, it was a ‘beautiful surprise’ as she had her first baby at the Manor in 2006.

Big brother Rayhat was very excited about his sibling’s arrival – Ibrat said: “He stayed up all night waiting for the news.” The baby was born at 2.23am.

Ibrat added: ““We haven’t given the baby a first name yet, as we are waiting to get home and speak with all the family.

“The whole experience has been very good – just like last time. The midwife was lovely and all the staff were so kind.”

Mother in law Mehfooz, who was supporting Ibrat in the Delivery Suite, has three boys of her own, including the baby’s dad – and all were born at the Manor.

As the mother of the first baby born at the Trust on this special day, Ibrat was given a gift by the Walsall Healthcare’s Well Wishers Charity (pictured being presented by Natalie Wilkes, Delivery Suite Team Leader.
