Make A Will Fortnight got underway today with Walsall Healthcare’s Well Wishers charity and local solicitors Enoch Evans.

Enoch Evans is offering its time and expertise once again to support people in getting their affairs in order – and will use donations to benefit the charity.

Make a Will Fortnight runs until 19 November with a suggested donation of £150 for a joint will and £85 for a single will. This year, the money raised will be used for the community stroke rehabilitation garden appeal. Well Wishers is working with the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit at Hollybank House in Willenhall to transform the grounds to include a potting area, sensory spot and seating area for stroke rehabilitation patients, their visitors and staff to use.

Georgie Westley, Fundraising Manager at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, said: “We have been running Make A Will Fortnight together for a few years now and thank Enoch Evans for this partnership which has benefitted both local people and local health services.

“It can be a tricky subject to talk about and we know some people find it uncomfortable to think about preparing for what will happen in the event of their – or a loved one’s death – but it is also important that families know each other’s wishes and can ensure they are carried out.”

Partner and Head of Wills, Tax and Probate at Enoch Evans, Richard Neea added: “As a Walsall firm it is important to us to support our local communities and this charity partnership helps us to do just that.

“Well Wishers is a super charity and we can see exactly where donations are spent and how they are benefitting the people who use healthcare services. In the past we have been able to put the donations towards refurbishing a sensory room in the community for children with complex needs and disabilities and fund virtual reality headsets for young adults and it was wonderful to see the difference this makes.”
