Walsall Breastfeeding Peer Support Group will be reintroducing face to face sessions for local mums from next month.

Run by Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust’s Infant Feeding Service, the group has been meeting virtually since the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure mums have been able to access help and advice along their breastfeeding journey. But from Friday 9 September these sessions will become face to face between 11am and 12.30pm at Pinfold Health Centre in Field Road, Bloxwich.

One mum who has found the group invaluable is Deena Sobeih who has baby Francesca.

She said: “I actually started this group with my first daughter which was during covid when we weren’t able to go out. The group was like a lifeline because we were able to support each other during a difficult time.

“I have made lifelong friends. There are always new and different ideas that we come up with and people can offer each other advice which is great.”

The infant feeding team said: “We are looking forward to being able to meet face to face once more – while support hasn’t stopped during the pandemic we know that mums have still felt isolated. If you would like to meet other breastfeeding mothers and share your feeding journey, please come, and join us.”

If any mother is experiencing any feeding difficulties and needs clinical infant feeding support they should contact the team on 01922 605248.
