Infant feeding support – temporary changes

Mums and families are being asked to note that in the light of the recent COVID-19 guidance we are changing how our infant feeding support services are run in Walsall with immediate effect.

The infant feeding groups will – until further notice – be run as a one-to-one service, by appointment only. People can no longer simply drop into the group, they need to call for an appointment.

Please call the infant feeding team on 01922 605248 for feeding advice and support and we will be able to appoint you to see us if that is needed.

Please do not come to appointments if you, or those close to you, have the symptoms of a continuous cough or temperature of 37.8 or higher or have been in contact with anyone with these symptoms.

People can call 01922 605248 for feeding support which will be offered by telephone; information can also be shared by email.

The national breastfeeding helpline is also an excellent source of support on 0300 100 0212.

We encourage you to breastfeed your baby to give them the best protection and will continue to support you to do this within the current restrictions.

The following is useful guidance for both breast and formula feeding infants.
