Stroke Community Services (Stafford)

Community stroke services provide nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech and language therapy for people who have had a stroke within the Staffordshire area and who are under the care of a Stafford GP.

The team assist people with their stroke recovery following discharge from hospital in various community settings. The specialised service offers an individual rehabilitation programme and supports people to achieve their goals and reach their maximum potential and independence.

A six week ‘Life After Stroke’ programme is also offered at either Stafford or Stone Fire Station encompassing the following elements; emotions, anxiety, fatigue, self-awareness, healthy lifestyles, exercise (weekly class with an instructor will be included) and an opportunity to speak with other stroke survivors

The aim is to provide information, advice and support to people who have had a stroke and also to carers in an informal group setting. Please contact the team for more information.

The service operates Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 4.30pm.

There is an answering machine available for out of hours/weekends/bank holidays.
