Rheumatology

The Rheumatology service treats patients with a wide range of inflammatory conditions associated with the musculoskeletal system and connective tissue disorders.

Services are provided by a team of Rheumatologists from Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust with support from two clinical nurse specialists.

The service offers a range of specialist clinics, including Early Arthritis clinics, and a range of treatments including infusions and various injections, many of which are performed on the Surgical Daycase Centre or in the Outpatient department.

The service sees and cares for patients with:

  • Ankylosis spondylitis

  • Autoimmune rheumatic diseases

  • Connective tissue disorders

  • Inflammatory Arthritis/ Early Arthritis

  • Osteoporosis

The service operates Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.

A telephone advice line service is also available which is manned Monday to Friday, 2 – 5pm. A voicemail facility is available outside of these hours.
