How long is My Preop Assessment valid for?

Your Preop Assessment will be valid for the duration of 3 months, if your procedure is not completed within this timeframe, you will need to repeat the process in order to pass fit for your procedure in compliance with Health and Quality safety.

What happens if my bloods are abnormal?

If your bloods are abnormal, we will ask you to have a repeat blood test. Should your results remain abnormal than you can be referred to your GP, Prehabilitation, specialist services within the hospital.

What happens is my MRSA test is positive?

You would be informed and referred to the relevant clinician to be treated, after 7 days from commencing treatment, you would be asked to re-test for an MRSA swab.

What happens is my MSSA test is positive?

Should your results be Positive, you will be referred to your GP whereby you will receive a 5-day course of treatment, this will not impact your ability to continue with your procedure, only if it is within 5 days of your surgery.

What happens if something is wrong with my ECG (Electrocardiagram) results?

The Preop team will refer you to the Consultant Anaesthetist to review your ECG results; you may then be contacted for a face-to-face appointment for further information and discussion of your next steps.
