Bariatrics and Specialist Weight Management

Morbid obesity is a complex problem for which bariatric surgery is a highly specialised intervention.

It is indicated for patients in whom all prior efforts of intensive weight reduction have failed such as pharmacological, lifestyle and community weight management services. Walsall Manor Hospital is an NHS designated centre for weight loss surgery and offers a range of laparoscopic (keyhole) bariatric procedures.

Our multi-disciplinary team are fully trained in delivering the bariatric surgical service. Patients will be motivated, counselled and adequately prepared prior to surgery to ensure their post-surgical compliance which is necessary for success. Walsall Manor Hospital is one of the leading hospitals in the West Midlands for performing laparoscopic bariatric surgery with reduced length of inpatient stays, early mobilisation and discharge.
