Osteoporosis Service

The community-based Osteoporosis Service works with Walsall Manor Hospital in identifying people aged over 50 who have experienced a fracture and are at a potential risk for further fracture or possibly Osteoporosis.

The service provides a bone health assessment and identifies risks for further fractures. A bone densitometry assessment can be arranged (if required). Diagnosis and management of Osteoporosis in also carried out in combination with the patient’s GP.

8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Referrals from GPs and other health or social care professionals are accepted by letter, generic referral form or SAP documents.
Self-referrals can be made in certain circumstances and will be sent to the appropriate part of the pathway.
