Caring for All Awards 2025The annual staff awards recognise the hard work and dedication of clinical and non-clinical colleagues across Walsall Healthcare and RWT.

If there is a person or team who you feel deserves to be acknowledged for their outstanding work, then get nominating!

Staff can nominate in the following categories:

Caring for All Award (one winner from either RWT or Walsall Healthcare): An individual or team who consistently show the behaviours we would expect (as outlined in our Joint Behavioural Framework). They listen, they are kind, they are inclusive and they are professional towards others. They actively promote these behaviours and encourage others to do the same.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Award (one winner from either RWT or Walsall Healthcare): An individual or a team with a clear commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion – putting education and awareness-raising at the heart of what they do. They will have taken action to improve staff or patient experiences in relation to any of the Equality Act protected characteristics.

Improvement, Research and Innovation Award (one winner from either RWT or Walsall Healthcare): An individual or a team who has engaged with research and innovation to improve their services. They may have taken part in research and/or raised the profile of research. They have made a demonstrable difference to patient/staff experiences and/or patient outcomes. Their service will have been made more efficient (e.g. through the use of technology or through engagement with quality improvement workstreams).

Rising Star Award (one winner from either RWT or Walsall Healthcare): This award commends an individual who is new to the Trust (less than three years) and has made a significant impact already. While showing passion for their work and determination, they have substantially grown in their role and it’s clear they will continue to add value as they progress in their career.

Inspiring Clinical Colleague at RWT: A clinical colleague who regularly goes the extra mile to provide excellent service. They frequently go above and beyond the call of duty, and clearly demonstrate the Trust values. They put in additional effort to deliver safe, effective and high-quality care – always ensuring positive patient experiences and/or outcomes.

Inspiring Clinical Colleague at Walsall Healthcare: A clinical colleague who regularly goes the extra mile to provide excellent service. They frequently go above and beyond the call of duty, and clearly demonstrate the Trust values. They put in additional effort to deliver safe, effective and high-quality care – always ensuring positive patient experiences and/or outcomes.

Inspiring Non-Clinical Colleague at RWT: A non-clinical colleague who doesn’t realise the value they bring to the organisation. They are enthusiastic, hard-working and an inspiration to others. They support those around them, and by doing so have a positive impact on the delivery of safe and effective care.

Inspiring Non-Clinical Colleague at Walsall Healthcare: A non-clinical colleague who doesn’t realise the value they bring to the organisation. Inspiring Clinical Team at RWT: A clinical team that has provided consistent, high-quality care. This could be through meeting financial and operational targets, demonstrating best practice and/or driving forward improvements in patient care. A team with shared goals and objectives – where all members have a voice and are able to contribute. They are always celebrating and encouraging one another.

Inspiring Clinical Team at Walsall Healthcare: A clinical team that has provided consistent, high-quality care. This could be through meeting financial and operational targets, demonstrating best practice and/or driving forward improvements in patient care. A team with shared goals and objectives – where all members have a voice and are able to contribute. They are always celebrating and encouraging one another.

Inspiring Non-Clinical Team at RWT: A non-clinical team that provides an excellent service. This could be through meeting financial and operational targets or demonstrating best practice and supporting their colleagues to deliver safe and effective care. A team with shared goals and objectives – where all members have a voice and are able to contribute. They are always celebrating and encouraging one another.

Inspiring Non-Clinical Team at Walsall Healthcare: A non-clinical team that provides an excellent service. This could be through meeting financial and operational targets or demonstrating best practice and supporting their colleagues to deliver safe and effective care. A team with shared goals and objectives – where all members have a voice and are able to contribute. They are always celebrating and encouraging one another.

Sustainability Award (one winner from either RWT or Walsall Healthcare): This award is for a team or individual who has shown a commitment to either environmental sustainability (supporting the ‘green’ agenda), people sustainability or financial sustainability. They will have made positive changes in their area, and have a clear enthusiasm for what they do.

WoW Award – Best Collaborative Effort: This award is for a team or individual who has been at the forefront of collaborative working – ‘working in partnership’ with colleagues across Wolverhampton and Walsall. They will have been responsible for the alignment of services, teams and/or processes, while also sharing of learnings and best practice.

The Chair and Chief Executive will jointly present an award to one individual or team on the night.

Nominations will be reviewed by a diverse judging panel, with a variety of skills and experiences. There will be an equal split of representatives from both Walsall and Wolverhampton.

The nominator must provide a minimum of 200 words, including examples.

Nominations will close on Friday 25 July at 5pm.

This form is to be completed by staff-only. Members of the public will soon be invited to vote in the ‘Sister Dora Award’ category (Walsall Healthcare) and/or the ‘Royal Award’ category (RWT).

All shortlisted nominees will be invited to the awards ceremony in November. More information to follow soon.
