Research and Development
Welcome to the Research and Development arm of the Faculty of Research and Clinical Education. Our team is made up of both Clinical and Non clinical staff and we oversee the research governance process for all research that takes place across the trust. This primarily involves making sure that we have relevant and up to date policies and procedures in place and facilitating the setup, delivery, recruitment and close out of research studies. As part of our role we provide approval for researchers; from both the public and private sectors; to initiate clinical trials, ensuring that systems are in place to safeguard everyone involved. We undertake all aspects of the costing, monitoring and performance of these studies and adhere to strict National guidelines for Research Governance, it is for this reason that all studies have to obtain R&D approval before commencing.
