Stafford Community Stroke Services

What we do

We are a community stroke service providing Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy for people who have had a stroke within the Staffordshire area and with a Stafford GP.

We assist people with their recovery after Stroke following discharge from hospital in various community settings. The specialised service offers an individual rehabilitation programme and supports people to achieve their goals and reach their maximum potential and independence.

We hold a 6 week Life After Stroke Programme at either Stafford or Stone Fire Station encompassing the following elements around Stroke:

  • Emotions
  • Anxiety
  • Fatigue
  • Self awareness
  • Healthy lifestyles
  •  Exercise - weekly class with an instructor will be included
  • Opportunity to speak with other stroke survivors

The aim is to provide information, advice and support to people who have had a stroke and also to carers in an informal group setting. If anyone is interested in attending, please contact the team for next available dates using the access information below.
