Dedicated followers of fashion can pick up some designer bargains and help a good cause at the same time with a charity fashion show to raise money for Walsall children with disabilities and complex needs.
Walsall Healthcare’s Well Wishers charity has teamed up with SOS Charity Fashion Shows for the event which is set for Sunday March 4 at Baron’s Court Hotel in Walsall Wood which has generously provided the venue free of charge. Doors open at 2pm and the catwalk will come to life at 2.30pm.
Proceeds will boost funds for a £15,000 appeal to update a sensory room and replace worn out, old-fashioned and broken equipment at the Trust’s Child Development Centre in Shelfield. The appeal was launched last September and since then, working with Well Wishers, fundraisers have been busy running, cycling, baking and donating to help it past the halfway mark. The total currently stands at £8,710.21.
Georgie Westley, Fundraising Manager, said: “We held a fashion show last year to help fund a monitoring system for women using maternity services and it was a real success with some of our staff becoming models for the event.
“This year we’re raising money for the sensory room at our Child Development Centre. We’ve had some fantastic support already to get the appeal past the halfway mark but we really want to reach our £15,000 target. The room offers children much-needed therapy and support but the equipment is old or worn out and we really want to give them something better.”
Tickets cost just £5 each and are on sale at the Purple Hub at the Manor Hospital which is in the outpatients corridor on Route 003.
Baron’s Court has kindly offered anyone attending the event 10% off a Sunday lunch. To book email firstname.lastname@example.org quoting Well Wishers Fashion Show. Sunday lunch is served from 12.30pm-2.30-pm.
