Reflexology is felt to be one of the most popular therapies to be used by midwives (Tiran ,2010)
Reflexology has a positive role to play within maternity care, potentially normalizing the birth process and reducing the need for intervention.
It is based upon the principle that energy zones run through the body and the relax areas in the feed correspond to all major organs, glands, and body parts (Norman 2010). Gentle pressure is applied to such areas to stimulate and encourage self-healing, it also promotes deep relaxation and returns the body to its natural equilibrium.
