Knitter Elaine's neonatal support

Retired social care worker Elaine Everton has been busily knitting items for Walsall Manor Hospital’s neonatal unit.

The 62-year-old has made hats as well as “angel” gowns for babies who have sadly passed away.

Elaine visited the unit earlier this month and also handed over £100 to Senior Nurse/Ward Manager Lisa Poston.

The fundraiser said: “I have sold some of the items I’ve knitted to raise money for the unit and help towards the things it needs.”

Lisa said: “We’re so grateful to Elaine for her efforts – and the angel gowns are such a thoughtful gesture for those parents who we support through bereavement.”
