Visitors to Walsall Manor Hospital may be greeted by a wicked witch or a spooky wizard as staff take part in a dress up day – just one of the highlights of the Well Wishers charity week of half-term activities.
Well Wishers charity works to make a difference to the patients of Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust by focusing on fundraising appeals to help improve services both in the hospital and community.
Currently raising funds for the maternity services appeal Youla Stevens, Fundraising Officer decided half-term was an ideal opportunity to plan some ‘ghoulish goings-on’ to help bring more funds in.
Bookworms can stop at the Purple Hub, opposite Route 003 in the Manor Hospital and take a look at the Well Wishers book sale on Tuesday 27th October. The sale will be taking place from 10:30am until 3:00pm.
Terrifyingly tasty treats will be on sale at the Well Wishers Halloween Cake Sale on Friday 31 October from 10:00am. Patients, visitors and colleagues are invited to sample a homemade cake for a small donation to the charity.
Youla said: “It’s going to be a busy half-term week at Walsall Healthcare as we hope everyone gets into the spirit. All funds raised will go towards a very special cause and really make a difference to our patients. Remember that colleagues will be donating £1 to dress up or dress down on Thursday, so be prepared to see a scary witch or terrifying clown if you are coming into hospital!”
