The friends and family test gives you the opportunity to provide feedback on any care that you have received.
When patients use our services, they are asked whether they would reccomend them to their friends and family if they needed similar treatment. This gives us a better understading of the needs of our patients and enables us to make improvements.
How does it work?
Within 48 hours of discharge, we ask you the following question.
'How likely are you to recommend our ward/A&E department to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'
We then ask you to respond by choosing from six options, from 'extremely likely', to 'extremely unlikely'
Your answer is voluntary. But if you do answer, your feedback will provide valuable information for your hospital to help ensure its patients have the best possible experience of care.
Your answer will not be traced back to you, and your details will not be passed on to anyone. A member of your family or a friend is welcome to answer the question if you are unable to.
If you feel that you should have been given the opportunity to respond but did not receive the question, please contact the Patient Relations team on 01922 656463.
