Double dose of Christmas Day work for Bal

We're saying thank you to our #WalsallandProud colleagues who will be working this Christmas Day - they're our Christmas stars!

We're kicking off with Support Services Assistant Bal Bains who is working both of her jobs on 25 December!

The mother-of-two, who has worked for Walsall Healthcare for more than 12 years, will do her 5-8pm shift on Ward 25, Primrose Ward, within Maternity Services.

“I didn’t work Christmas Day last year so I’m due to take my turn this year,” the 48-year-old explained.

“We’re a team and someone always has to work it, we help each other out. I usually work in Paediatric Outpatients so going into Maternity will be a change for me.”

Bal has also got a job as a carer and is working Christmas morning.

“I will be back to get the dinner on and will just have time to eat it before I get ready to come and work at the Manor Hospital,” she said.

“I’m having a break before Christmas to get everything done so I can’t really complain!”
