Clinical Health Psychology

What we do

Clinical Health Psychology provides a service to individuals and their families suffering from physical health problems including the high profile physical diseases, Stroke and Cancer. Other areas of work include; Chronic Pain, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Long Term Neurological Conditions, Acquired Brain Injury, HIV and Coronary Heart Disease. We see people whose primary problem is a physical condition and who have psychological difficulties related to that condition. These difficulties may include anxiety/fear, depression, anger, frustration, motivation, adjustment difficulties, problems with cognitive/thinking abilities and behavioural difficulties.

The specialty is committed to promoting an awareness of the role of psychological and social factors in physical health in order to provide the most effective management, treatment and rehabilitation for those Walsall residents who experience these conditions.
