Our Finance Director Russell Caldicott admits he would usually be celebrating a fairly Merry Christmas but this year he will need to keep a clear head as he’s our Trust’s On call Director.
“It’s fair to say I will be having a very sober day because I may be called into the hospital at a moment’s notice and even if my presence isn’t needed my guidance and support may be,” said Russell who has worked at the Trust for 8 years.
“We’re a 24 hour organisation and have to be prepared for any eventuality so we may find ourselves in a situation where we need to cope with additional patients or need to respond to a major incident such as a crash or industrial accident. My role is to help co-ordinate that response working with colleagues across all levels of the organisation whose expertise will help us manage the situation.
“I’m extremely proud of our wonderful staff here at the Trust and feel it’s only right we take time to thank all of those support services assistants, porters, nurses, doctors, consultants and volunteers who are working for us on Christmas Day to ensure they collectively deliver safe high quality care to our patients.”
