Christmas donation to maternity bereavement boxes 

A big thank you to Emma and Mark Price who have kindly donated ten key rings for Walsall Healthcare’s bereavement boxes.

Paediatrics waves goodbye to retiring Ward Clerk 

After nearly 30 years working at Walsall Manor Hospital, Ward Clerk Kath Sharp has logged off her computer for the final time.

Having joined the Trust May 1989, Kath has spent the past three decades looking after the admin side of Walsall Healthcare’s Paediatric Ward; coordinating patient notes and acting as first point of contact for parents and colleagues.

“Baby Friendly’ is Best for Walsall Healthcare Health Visiting Service 

Walsall Healthcare’s 0-5 Health Visiting (Healthy Child Programme) service has achieved the prestigious Baby Friendly Award.

The Baby Friendly Initiative, part of Unicef (United Nation’s Children’s Fund), recognises the excellent support in infant feeding and parent-infant relationships Walsall Health visiting Service offers to Walsall families.

Jingle Babies – it’s a neonatal Christmas party! 

On any regular day, a 2 foot Christmas tree would seem somewhat disappointing, however, this wasn’t the case for Rachel and Ben Sedgwick as their 3 month old son won ‘best dressed male baby’ at Walsall Healthcare’s Neonatal Christmas Party – giving his best attempt at a Norwegian fir!

“Kind, Caring and Compassionate” - Latest CQC report recognises progress made 

Hard work by teams across Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust to improve services for patients has been recognised in the latest inspection report released by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), which shows progress in each service area.

The CQC has rated the Trust as “Requires Improvement” overall, with a rating of “Good” for the caring domain and a rating of “Outstanding” for its community services. There are only a handful of community services in the country with this rating.
